Description

Pembrokeshire is one of the UK’s most distinctive and ambitious places. Home to a world class coastline, vibrant communities, growing energy sector and nationally significant economic opportunities, this is a county with a compelling future. From the transformational potential of the Celtic Freeport to major regeneration programmes and investment in our towns, communities and infrastructure, there has never been a more exciting time to help shape Pembrokeshire’s next chapter.

We are seeking an exceptional leader to become our Deputy Chief Executive & Director of Place. As the custodian of place, you will lead a broad and influential portfolio spanning regeneration, economic development, planning, property, transport, environmental services, climate change and major capital projects. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the Council’s ambitions while helping to shape the future prosperity of Pembrokeshire.

This is not a steady-state role. We need a resilient, politically astute and visible leader who thrives in complexity, embraces change and can galvanise teams behind a shared vision. You will bring people together, build a cohesive directorate and work across boundaries to deliver ambitious outcomes for residents, businesses and communities.

As Deputy Chief Executive you will be one of the principal leaders in the authority operating at the corporate centre and across the breadth and depth of the organisation.

We welcome applications from both local government and wider sectors. If you have successfully led significant place, regeneration, infrastructure or economic growth portfolios in a complex and politically sensitive environment, we would be keen to hear from you.
